The best part of my job is helping people.
"The legal process can be intimidating and complicated and I like being able to walk people through their case step-by-step until the very end. When I accept a client, they know I care about them and what is important to them. And that I’m going to use all of my experience, passion, and skills to do the right things the right way to help them make smart decisions.”
– Stephen F. DeAntonio

In 1998, Stephen DeAntonio started his own firm. The DeAntonio Law Firm, in Charleston, SC, has handled many high-profile cases since its founding. The firm has been voted as one the Best Lawyers in America, and U.S. News & World Report’s Best Law Firms, with special recognition to his work in the field of First Amendment. Mr. DeAntonio also holds the highest peer rating for legal ability and ethics, the AV PREEMINENT® rating from Martindale Hubbell. His experience in broadcasting, as a defense attorney, and now as a plaintiffs' attorney, makes him a great advocate for his clients.

Steve’s been a contributing editor of the treatise, “The Law of Automobile Insurance in South Carolina.” He’s also served on the Lawyer’s Fund for Client Protection (formerly the Client Security Fund) and closed out his tenure as Chairman.
Your Neighbor
Steve, a native Charlestonian whose families settled here generations ago, has fully lived the Lowcountry life. He attended local schools. Through mischief, he was introduced at an early age to plough mud and marsh. He's ridden across our waves, screamed across the swells in a catamaran, and hunted the fields. He's settled back in the church he grew up in, where he is active. According to his immediate family, he's written the greatest novel never to be published, and also gave up a career composing whimsical country songs, all for the practice of law. A recovering triathlete, Steve is a voracious reader of fiction written by Italian authors, as well as historical writings about the Romans, and food books on genuinely authentic Italian recipes.
